AhlulBayt News Agency: Iran’s Minister of Science, Research, and Technology, Hossein Simaei Sarraf, has emphasized the need for Islamic countries to establish a structured roadmap for artificial intelligence (AI) development.
According to Mehr, speaking at the 2nd Ministerial Meeting of the OIC-15 Dialogue Platform in Tehran on Monday, Sarraf underscored the importance of integrating AI education into national strategies, describing it as essential for progress.
“It is crucial for the Islamic community to understand both the opportunities and challenges presented by AI,” he stated.
He also addressed the ethical dimensions of AI-driven advancements, highlighting concerns about its application in global conflicts. In this regard, he pointed out the Israeli regime’s use of AI to further its objectives in the ongoing war in Gaza.
The meeting, hosted in Tehran on May 18-19, brings together ministers and senior representatives from over 20 member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation to discuss strategic initiatives in science and technology.
